| Term | Definition |

| Muscular System | Allows movement of body parts |
| Skeletal System | Made of bones, ligaments, & cartilage. Supports the body and protects organs. Makes blood cells. |
| Reproductive System | Provides gametes and organs for reproduction. |
| Respiratory System | Gathers oxygen from the environment and gets rid of carbon dioxide from the body. |
| Cardiovascular System | Moved blood through the body. |
| Lymphatic System | Returns leaked fluid to the blood, part of the immune system, helping get rid of bacteria and viruses. |
| Endocrine System | Regulates conditions inside the body & influences growth and development |
| Integumentary System | Protective covering of the body including skin, hair, and nails. |
| Excretory System | Rids the body of wastes. |
| Digestive System | Breaks down food into nutrients used by the body. |
| Nervous System | Collects information & responds by sending electrical messages. Brain is the center of this system. |
