Cell Cycle phases
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Interphase | Cells carry out regular life process, Before mitosis chromosomes copy |
| Chromatids | duplicated from chromosomes and are held together by a centromere |
| Phases of Mitosis | Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase |
| Prophase | Nuclear membrane and nucleolus disappears. Cenrioles split and move to the opposite sides of the cell. |
| Metaphase | Chromatids line up along the center of the cell. Spindles attach to the centromere |
| Anaphase | Chromatids seperate. Chromosomes move along the spindles towared the poles |
| Telophase | Chromosomes reach poles. Nuclear membrane and nucleolus reforms. Two identical nucli are formed |
| Cytokinesis | Cell membrane pinches in. In plants each cell builds half of a cell wall. Then two identical daughter cells are formed |
| Cancer | Uncontrolled cell division |
