Courtesy A polite behavior that shows respect for other people
Communicable Disease A disease that can spread from one person to another
EPA-Registered Disinfectant A disinfectant that is effective on all nonporous surfaces
Disinfection The act of destroying/killing certain microbes on nonporous surfaces
Antiseptic Reduces microbes only on the skin
Cells The basic units of living matter
Occipital Bone The bone that forms at the back of the skull, indenting above the nape area
Parietal Bone The bone formed by the crown and upper sides of the head
Striated Muscle A voluntary muscle that responds to commands
5 Amino Acids Carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, and hydrogen
Keratin What the hair is mostly made up of
Follicle Tube-like pocket the hair grows out of
Porosity The ability to absorb moisture
Density The number of hairs on one square inch of the scalp
Warm Colors Yellow, orange, and red
Lunula The half-moon shape at the base of the nail and is the visible part of the nail matrix
Nail Plate The hard part of the nail that is made up of translucent keratin protein
Cuticle Oil Moisturizes brittle nails
