TermDefinition
Expository Intended to explain or describe something.
Explicit Stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for doubt or confusion.
Text Structure This refers to how the information in a passage or story is organized (ex: cause and effect, chronological, main idea/details, etc.)
Successor Someone who takes the place of someone else in a certain position.
Plummeting Falling quickly and far.
Irony When the reader knows something the characters don’t know.
Flashback A scene or series of scenes showing events that happened in the past.
Personification Giving human characteristics to something nonhuman.
Immense Extremely large
Ponderously To walk slowly and clumsily because of great weight.
