Display Modes

What are the 3 basic modes of display or formats? amplitude, brightness, and motion mode
What is amplitude mode (A-mode)? the height of upward deflection is proportional to the amplitude of the returning echo
What does the x-axis (horizontal) of A-mode represents? depth
What does the y-axis (vertical) of A-mode represents? amplitude
What is brightness mode (B-mode)? line of dotes of brightness
In B-mode, what moves at at a constant speed across the system's display? an invisible dot
What does the x-axis of B-mode represents? depth
What does the z-axis of of B-mode represents? amplitude
What is the motion mode (M-mode)? group of horizontal wavy lines
In M-mode, what direction moves at a constant speed? right to left
What does the x-axis of M-mode represents? time
What does the y-axis of M-mode represents? depth
Does A-mode have a z-axis? No
