TermDefinition
Lab Safety Measures to protect against laboratory accidents
Conclusion short paragraph that discusses the overall results of an experimental procedure and explains whether the proposed hypothesis at the beginning of the experiment was correct or not.
Experiment a procedure done in a controlled environment for the purpose of gathering observations, data, or facts, demonstrating known facts or theories, or testing hypotheses or theories.
Hypothesis an educated guess
Observation The data measured, collected, during an experiment
Scientific Method a process by which observations are questioned; hypotheses are created and tested; and the results are analyzed.
Variable a factor or a quantity whose value may vary in contrast to
Quantative Data data that involves numbers
Qualative Data descriptive data
Independent Variable the variable that is altered during a scientific experiment.
Dependant Variable the variable being tested or measured during a scientific experiment.
Data A collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn
Control a variable that is kept the same during a scientific experiment.
