Unit 1- Cells

Can you remember these details about the two types of cells?

cell the basic unit of life All living things are made of cells
prokaryote or prokaryotic cell bacteria cells small and simple, with the DNA loose inside the cell
eukaryote or eukaryotic cell all living things except bacteria are eukaryotic (including YOU) large and complicated, they have many organelles, including a nucleus that stores the DNA
DNA the directions for how a cell should do its job
Nucleus the organelle that is the control center for the cell DNA is stored inside the nucleus in all eukaryotic cells
organelle structures inside a cell that help it do its job An example of an organelle is the nucleus
