photosynthesis and cellular respiration vocabulary

| Reactans | The substances that are present at the beginning of the reaction (on the left side of the reaction) |
| Products | What is created in a reaction (on the right side of the reaction) |
| Cellular Respiration | how all living things break down carbohydrates to create ATP |
| ATP | the energy that is created through cellular respiration |
| Mitochondria | the organelle where Cellular Respiration takes place |
| Anaerobic Respiration | how living things create energy when oxygen is NOT available |
| Photosynthesis | how plants use sunlight to create glucose as their food |
| Chloroplast | organelle that absorbs sunlight and where photosynthesis takes place in plants |
| aerobic respiration | how ATP is created when oxygen IS available |
| stomata | small holes in leaves that allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to come in and out of the plant |
| autotroph | an organism that makes it own food |
| heterotroph | an organism that cannot make its own food |
| glucose | sugar made during photosynthesis |
