what can't viruses do? live on their own
what does communicable disease mean? it means infectious- can be spread, caused by pathogens
what does non-communicable disease mean? it means non-infectious- cannot be spread
what are examples of communicable diseases? tuberculosis and flu
what are examples of non-communicable diseases? heart disease and arthritis
what are pathogens? microorganisms that cause infectious diseases
name the 4 different things pathogens may be: viruses, bacteria, protists and fungi
what might pathogens infect? plants or animals
how can pathogens spread infection? by direct contact, water or by air.
what might produce poisons (toxins) that make us feel ill? bacteria will be produced and it will damage tissues.
what inside the body is produced rapidly by binary fission? bacteria produce rapidly inside the body by binary fission.
