Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Circulartory, Respiratory Systems
| Term | Definition |

| Skeletal System | Supports and protects the organs in our body |
| Ligaments | Tissue that connects bones to bones |
| Tendons | Tissue that connects bones to muscles |
| Joints | Where 2 or more bones join together |
| Muscular System | Allows the body to move |
| Involuntary Muscles | Muscles that operate on their own - we do not control their movements |
| Voluntary Muscles | Muscles that we do control by sending messages from our brain to our muscles to move |
| Nervous System | The control center of our body - sends messages to all parts of our body in order for us to react to the environment around us |
| Respiratory System | Allows us to breathe - takes in oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide |
| Circulatory System | Circulates blood throughout our body to bring nutrients and oxygen to our cells. |
| Arteries | carry blood AWAY from the heart |
| Veins | carry blood TO the heart |
| Parts of the skeletal system | Bones, Ligaments, Cartiledge, Joints |
| Parts of the muscular system | Muscles, Tendons |
| Parts of the nervous system | Brain, Spinal Cord, Nerves |
| Parts of the circulatory system | Heart, Blood, Blood vessels |
