| MRI ultrasound fusion biopsy | combo of magnetic resonance imaging, transrectal ultrasound to obtain a tissue from prostate lesion used to direct the needle onto the are of prostate that look suspicious |

| transurethral incision of prostate gland (TUIP) | surgical procedure that widens urethra by making small incisions in bladder neck and prostate. May be used when prostate is less enlarged |
| transurethral microwave thermotherapy | treatment that eliminates excess tissue present in benign hyperplasia by using heat generated by microwave |
| Transurethral resection of prostate gland (TURP) | surgical removal of pieces of prostate gland tissue by using an instrument inserted through urethra ( used when enlarged prostate gland interferes with urination. |
