adaptation The evolution of structural, internal, or behavioral features that help an organism better survive in an environment.
organism Any unicellular or multicellular form exhibiting all the characteristics of life.
biology The study of living things and their interactions with the abiotic and biotic environments.
development Rapid or slow changes in an organism over time.
energy The ability to do work or power life's processes.
environment External and internal conditions which cause an organism to continually adjust.
evolution The change in a gene pool of a population in response to various stimuli exhibited by a species over time.
growth A process that results in structural changes and increased living material in an organism.
homeostasis The equilibrium of an organism's internal environment that maintains conditions suitable for life.
organization Orderly structure shown by living things.
reproduction The production of offspring.
response Reaction to an internal or external stimulus.
species Population of interbreeding organisms capable of producing fertile offspring.
stimulus Any adjustment requiring condition of an organism's environment
