Product planning involves making decisions about what features should be used in selling a business's products, services, or ideas.
product mix includes all the different products that a company makes or sells.
product line is a group of closely related products manufactured or sold by a business.
product item is a specific model, brand, or size of a product within a product line.
product width refers to the number of different product lines a business manufacturers or sells.
product modification is an alteration in a company's existing product.
category management is a process that involves managing product categories as individual business units.
planograms Another way manufacturers can help retailers
brand a name, term, design, symbol, or combination of these elements that identifies a product or service and distinguishes it from its competitors.
package the physical container or wrapping for a product.
mixed bundling The practice of packaging different products and services together
price bundling when two or more similar products are placed on sale for one package price
blister packs packages with preformed plastic molds surrounding individual items arranged on a backing.
aspect packaging incorporates a technology that keeps foods fresh without refrigeration for extended periods of time.
cause packaging Some companies are also using their packages to promote social and political causes.
label information tag, wrapper, seal, or imprinted message that is attached to a product or its package.
descriptive label gives information about the product's use, construction, care, performance, and other features.
grade label states the quality of the product.
