Physical Defenses These defenses are considered to be the first line of defense. They involve body structures to provide a barrier to pathogens
Inflammatory Response Second line of defense
Immune Response Third Line of Defense. This is a targeted attack at specific pathogens.
Anitbodies White blood cells make and release Y-Shaped proteins to bind with specific antigens.
Antigens Specifically shaped structures that are attached to pathogens
Vaccine One way we can artificially acquire immunity to certain types of diseases.
Antibiotics Targets bacterial infections, and helps keep them from reproducing.
White Blood Cells/ Macrophages Move around to remove dead cells and foreign bodies
Helper T cells and B cells Play an important role in the bodies immune function
Memory cell Replicates itself searches for the same antigen, resulting in a faster response to any attack.
