| Cilium/cilia | Projection that produces movement in many cells. |
| Cytoplasm | Jelly like fluid found inside the cell that contains nutrients and waste. |
| Cytoskeleton | A network of long protein strands in the cytosol that helps support the cell. |
| Eukaryote | A multicellular or unicellular organism with a nucleus and membrane bound organelles. |
| Flagellum/ flagella | Thin whip-like structure that aids in movement. |
| Golgi apparatus | A system of membranes that modifies and packages proteins for export by the cell. |
| Golgi Bodies | A complex of vesicles and folded membranes within the cytoplasm. |
| Lysosome | An organelle containing digestive enzymes. (suicide sac) |
| Mitochondria | Site of energy production. |
| Nucleus | Control centre of the cell, holds the DNA, nucleolus is found inside the nucleus. |
| Peroxisomes | Break toxins and produce hydrogen peroxide |
| Prokaryote | A unicellular organism that lacks a nucleus and membrane bound organelles. |
| Ribosomes | Site of protein production. |
| Rough ER | The portion of the endoplasmic reticulum studded with ribosomes. |
| Smooth ER | Synthesizes lipids. |
| Vacuole | Stores substances and helps maintain cell shape. |
