QuestionAnswer
autotroph a producer; a living organism that makes its own food by using energy from the light
decomposer a living organism that breaks down waste or decaying material in order to get nutrients to stay alive
population refers to a group of one type of living organisms example: humans or pandas
mutualism a symbiotic relationship where both organisms benefit
producer a living organism that makes its own food
consumer a living organism that gets/eats its food
heterotroph a consumer; a living organism that needs to eat food to gain energy
parasitism a symbiotic relationship where one organism is harmed while the other organism benefits
carnivore a consumer that only eats animals (usually a third level consumer)
ominivore a consumer that eats both plants and animals
herbivore plant eater; primary consumer
symbiosis a close relationship between two different organisms; example: bird and a flower
