Digestion is a chemical process by which large molecules of food change into simple molecules called "nutrients"
Organic matter matter made of carbon of plant or animal origin
Fehling solution reagent used to identify certain sugars called reducing sugars such as glucose and maltose

In vivo any experiment that is performed inside the body
Hydrolysis decomposition of complex molecules into simpler ones in the presence of water
Enzyme a chemical substance produced by the body that facilitates the simplification of a complex molecule
Molecule a group of atoms bonded together
Albumin protein of the egg white that coagulates when heated
pH the measure of the concentration of H+ ions of a solution
Pepsin digestive enzyme secreted by the stomach
Trypsin digestive enzyme secreted by the pancreas
Biocatalyst catalyst produced by the living organism
Substrate substance upon which an enzyme acts
