Term | Definition |

Apoptosis | "programmed cell death" -fragmentation of a cell into membrane bound particles. -Elimination by phagocytosis by specialized cells. -Accompanies embryonic growth and differentiation. |
Tissues from Endoderm | "inner layer" -Epithelial lining the inside of the digestive tube except part of the mouth and pharynx. -Lining cells of all the glands which open into digestive tract including liver and pancreas. |
Tissues from Ectoderm | "Outer layer" -Forms CNS, lens of eye, sensory of epithelium, epidermis, nails, and hair, nasal cavity, and tooth enamel. |
Tissues from Mesoderm | "middle layer" -Forms the cardiac, skeletal, smooth muscle, bone, cartilage, lymph cells, blood, dentin, pulp, cementum, and periodontal ligament. |
Trilaminar Disk | Early stage in the development of triploblastic organisms in animals and humans. -Cells flow in over the primitive streak between the two already existing germinal layers to form the next germinal layer. |
