inmunidad activa Inmunidad a largo plazo en la cual el organismo produce anticuerpos después de estar enfermo o de recibir una vacuna.
SIDA Causada por el virus del VIH, es cuando el cuerpo no puede combatir infecciones debido a una escasez de glóbulos blancos
alergía Una reacción exagerada del sistema inmunológico a sustancias inofensivas (polen, caspa de mascotas…)
anticuerpo PROTEÍNAS producidas por glóbulos blancos que VINCULAN y DESTRUYEN patógenos extraños en el cuerpo
antibiótico Medicamento que mata las bacterias (penicilina, amoxicilina)
antígeno Un receptor celular ubicado en la superficie de patógenos y células extrañas que causa una respuesta inmune
enfermedad autoinmune Cuando los glóbulos blancos del sistema inmunitario atacan las propias células de un organismo
microbio Un organismo microscópico
inmunidad pasiva Inmunidad temporal obtenida cuando los anticuerpos son transferidos de un organismo a otro, al igual que durante el embarazo y la lactancia
vacuna Patógeno muerto o debilitado inyectado para causar una respuesta inmune
virus Un patógeno muy pequeño no vivo hecho de ADN o ARN, rodeado por una capa de proteína que necesita un huésped para reproducirse.
