TermDefinition
organism A living thing
independent variable The part of an experiment that is changed on purpose to get a response. It is plotted on the x-axis of graphs.
dependent variable The data that is measured or observed in an experiment. It is plotted on the y-axis of graphs.
control group The group in an experiment that is left alone (does not get the independent variable) to be used for comparison
controlled experiment A proper experiment because only one independent variable is used at a time
conclusion The result of an experiment
circulatory system Consisting of the heart, blood and blood vessels, it transports substances within animals
red blood cell Part of the blood that carries oxygen and carbon dioxide
white blood cell Part of the blood that has a nucleus and fights infection
platelet Part of the blood that helps clot cuts
