intertubular dentin also known as the peritubular dentin; intertubular dentin is the body of dentin, which comprises the the crown and root. this dentin consists of type I collagen fibers and inorganic crystals of hydroxyapatite; it is also less calcified.
osteodentin a type of reparative (tertiary) dentin which is formed under an exposure. osteodentin has hard-set calcium hydroxide, and may have different forms; this type of dentin can sometimes resemble bone more than dentin.
sclerotic (transparent) dentin dentin tubules are obstructed by mineral; happens often in the elderly, and usually in the tooth root. the defect in dentin is said to be a spontaneous crystalization that blocks dentinal tubules which prevents protection from future damage.
dead tracts defects in dentinal tubules. this defect is the result of loss odontoblastic processes, which will lead to the death of odontoblasts.
