Adaptation Any trait physical or behavioral that gives an organism a better chance of survival
Variations Differences between individuals
Tundra Cold ecosystems with a permafrost and short growing season
Taiga Also known as Coniferous forest. Trees with needle leaves that are evergreen. Has harsh cold winters with precipitation as snow.
Grasslands Characterized as an ecosystem with little to no trees mostly grasses. Has a dry season and tends to have frequent fires.
Desert Dry environment that receives less than 10 inches of precipitation per year. Hot days and cold nights.
Tropical Rain Forest Receives 200 cm of rain per year. High biodiversity. Dense vegetation.
Freshwater Biomes No salt in water, includes streams, rivers, lake, and ponds.
Marine Biomes 70% of Earth, salt in water, includes oceans, seas, coral reefs.
