TermDefinition
Ribosomes Protein synthesis - The joining of amino acids together in a chain to form a protein.
S1 Phase if cell cycle Synthesis Phase. Second stage of interphase. DNA synthesis. A vital process for cell division and is highly regulated. S phase is about 5-8 hours
G1 Phase of cell cycle. GAP 1 Phase. First stage of interphase. The growth phase. Synthesis of enzymes and nutrients that are needed later on for DNA replication and cell division. cells produce the most proteins.
G2 Phase of cell cycle. GAP 2 Phase. Third and last part of interphase and is the shortest of 2-4hrs. Rapid cell growth and protein synthesis preparing for mitosis. Needed organelles and proteins necessary for cell division are produced.
Interphase Is the resting phase. G1 phase, S phase, G2 phase all take place. With DNA and Protein synthesis occuring as well as Celk growth take place.
