Why are plants known as producers? they produce their own food! They do this by using light energy from the Sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil to produce food - in the form of glucouse/sugar. The process is called photosynthesis.
What gas exits stomata? oxygen hint: Out=oxygen
What gas enters the stomata? Carbon dioxide hint: come in=carbon
What high energy organic compound is made by photosysthesis? ATP
Why can life not exist without photosynthesis? In the process, they produce oxygen, which constitutes a significant portion of the air we breathe so less plants means less recycling of carbon dioxide and less oxygen production. Plants also give us food and fibers to make clothes and without photosynth
Where is the sugar compound made in a plant during photosynthesis? chloroplast
The equation that represents photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide + water > glucose + oxygen
What are the basic raw materials of photosynthesis? water and carbon dioxide
What compound is formed as a common product of photosynthesis? Glucose (sugar)
What activity occurs during photosynthesis? Light energy is stored as chemical energy in organic molecules.
