Homeostasis
Bio 9 Reviewbook pg 20-22
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| homeostasis | internal stability that organisms maintain. Home=comfort, happy, stable |
| Biochemical processes | The chemical processes that occur in living things 2 enzyme controlled processes are photosynthesis and respiration |
| Photosynthesis | The process by which energy is stored in chemical bonds of organic molecules such as carbohydrates. Ex. plants and algae, -The connection between energy released from the sun and energy available in living things Photosynthesis = carbohydrates |
| Respiration | The process by which chemical energy is stored in nutrients and released for use in cells. Respiration= Nutrients *All living things carry out respiration |
| Sun | Where primary energy for life comes from. |
| chloroplast | light capturing molecules are located here. photosynthesis occurs here *use solar energy to convert to inorganic molecules |
| glucose | simple carbohydrate |
| cellular respiration | generates ATP molecules to release energy |
| synthesis | chemical combining |
