Respiratory system terms and questions

Thoracic Chest
Epiglottis Flap that covers the top of the larynx to prevent food from entering the larynx
Vocal folds Tissue folds that vibrate from air passing through the larynx creating sound
Trachea (Windpipe) Passes air from the upper respiratory system down to the lungs
What is the Trachea made up of? Catilage rings
What does the rib cage protect? The lungs
Where is the heart located? Between the left and right lung
What is the diaphragm attached to? The inferior side of the lungs
