Review organelles of plant and animal cells

nucleus the control center of the cell
cell membrane outer barrier of the cell which regulates substances that pass into and out of the cell
cytoplasm fluid like material which supports organelles in cell
mitochondria organelle responsible for cellular respiration, breaking down sugar for energy
endoplasmic reticulum a network of passageways through the cell used for making lipids and transport
lysosome an organelle which contains digestive enzymes for the cell
ribosome an organelle which produces proteins
vesicle an organelle used for storage
golgi body an organelle which packages proteins and transports them
cytoskeleton fibers in the cytoplasm which help support the cell
cell wall a rigid outer boundary found in plants and fungi
chloroplast the organelle which carries out photosynthesis, found in plant cells
large central vacuole an organelle found in plant cells that stores water and other materials
