Cell Division

QuestionAnswer
What happens during Interphase? The number of chromosomes doubles. (nuclear membrane and cell membrane)
What happens during Prophase? The nucleus disappears. The spindle connects to the opposite end of the cell. (spindle bridge)
What happens during Metaphase? "Middle". The pairs of chromosomes line up in the center of the cell and attach to the spindle.
What happens during Anaphase The spindle pulls pairs of chromosomes apart , single chromosomes move to the opposite ends of the cell. (Active phase)
What happens during Telephase? The nuclear membrane reappears around the single set of chromosomes at opposite ends of the cell
What happens to produce the Daughter Cells? The parent cell membrane pinches in, and the cytoplasm divides to create 2 identical daughter cells.
List the phases of cell division. *hint: IPMATC Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, Daughter Cell
