GSH 5th grade Science Cells

Cell Basic unit of funciton of living things.
Nucleus Brain of the cell.
Vacuole Storage center of the cell.
Cell Membrane Controls what goes in and out of the cell.
Mitochondria Break down materials and release energy for the cell.
Cytoplasm Jellylike substance that fills most of the cell.
Chloroplast Part of the cell that give plants their green color.
Cell Wall Part of the plant cell that gives it structure.
Microorganism One celled organism
Euglena Microorganism that can move around and catch food.
Amoeba Constantly changes shape as it catches food in its cytoplasm.
Paramecium Its structure allows it to move about and catch food.
Chlorophyl The stuff inside chloroplasts that make them green and allow them to make food.
