Organelle Jobs

what job does each organelle in the cell do?

what is the job of the cell membrane? decides what enters and exits the cell
what is the job of the mitochondria break down food and turn it into energy for the cell
what is the job of the endoplasmic reticulum? system of passage ways which let things move around from one part of the cell to another
what is the job of the golgi complex? to help package materials within the cell
what is the job of the vacuole? to store water in the cell
what is the job of the nucleus? to be the control center of the cell and to hold the cell's DNA (instructions for LIFE!)
cell with a nucleus eukaryote (eukaryotic cells)
cell with NO nucleus prokaryote (prokaryotic cells)
lysosome help the cell digest food, and get rid of cell waste
chloroplast helps PLANT cells turn sunlight into sugar (food) for the cell
