life cycle a series of stages that an organism passes through during its life time
birth the act of being born
growth when an organism becomes larger
reproduction a process where organisms make new organisms similar to themselves
pride the name given to a group of lions living together
concealing coloration when animals hide themselves in backgrounds of the same color as themselves
disruptive coloration when animals have spots, stripes, or patterns to help them blend in to the environment
disguise when animals blend into their environment by looking like another object
mimicry when animals resemble poisonous or harmful animals
camouflage a behavior or process designated to hide an organism
herd a name given to a group of animals such as zebras and elephants
pod the name given to a group of killer whales living together
pack the name given to a group of wolves living together
adaptation an adjustment in behavior or structure to help organisms survive in an environment
structure the arrangement, shape, and organization of parts of an organism (example: beak, teeth, tail)
process an action that results in a change
interaction the action or influence of organisms on one another
