| Producer | A living thing that can use sunlight to make it's own food. |
| Predator | An animal that hunts other animals for food. |
| Prey | An animal that is hunted by another for food. |
| Food Web | Pathways of energy that overlap in a ecosystem. |
| Food Chain | The transfer of energy from the sun to producer to consumer. |
| Ecosystem | An area where living and non-living things interact. |
| Consumer | A living thing that has to hunt or gather it's own food. |
| Herbivore | A consumer that only eats plants. |
| Carnivore | A consumer that only eats meat. |
| Omnivore | A consumer that eats meat and plants. |
| Adaptation | A change or the process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to its environment. |
| Decomposer | An organism that puts materials from dead plants and animals back into soil, air, or water. |
