| job | A group of homogeneous tasks related by similarity of functions |
| career | The progress and actions taken by a person throughout a lifetime, especially those related to that person's occupations |
| resume’ | Formal presentation of a job applicant's education, skills, and work experience |
| cover letter | Formal letter describing the accompanying documents and/or other items and the reasons for sending them |
| entrepreneur | Someone who exercises initiative by organizing a venture to take benefit of an opportunity |
| salary | Agreed-upon and regular compensation for employment that may be paid in any frequency |
| network | Communicating with others to make connections for businesses |
| promotion | The advancement of an employee's position within the organization |
| benefits | insurance policies given by jobs/businesses |
| gross pay | total pay a person receives |
| net pay | The total revenue in an accounting period minus all expenses during the same period |
| form W-4 | A tax form prepared by an employee for an employer indicating the employee's to determine the amount of taxes to be withheld for the employee. |

| Pretax | The gross amount paid for a good or service before taxes are taken out |
