Biodiversity the variety of life in an ecosystem
Native Species the naturally born organism that thrives in a certain ecosystem
Pathogens a disease-causing microorganism
Extinction an organism that no longer exists
Producer an organism that makes its own food
Consumer an organism that relies on plants or other animals
Ecosystem a large community of different organisms containing both abiotic and biotic factors
Abiotic the nonliving factors of an ecosystem
Biotic the living or once living factors of an ecosystem
Population The number of the same species living in the same space and time
Biosphere The parts of earth where life is found
Herbivore A consumer that only eats plants
Omnivore A consumer that eats a combination of both plants and animals
Carnivore A consumer that only eats animals
Scavenger Omnivores that eat both dead plants and animals
