QuestionAnswer
organic compound Any compound that contains the element carbon.
Macromolecule Large molecule/compound made of many small molecules.
4 organic macromolecules Carbohydrate, lipid, protein, nucleic acid.
Monomer One identical or almost identical compound that can be linked together.
Polymer Large molecule mad by bonding many monomers together.
Carbohydrate It gives energy for cells.
Protein It makes body strutures and help body grow.
Lipid it stores energy, stores and move vitamins and protects organism
Nucleic Acid It holds all the instruction to make your body.
Monosacharide It is the "Carbohydrate" monomer it has C,H,O in it. It's structure looks like a ring.
Amino acid It is the "Protein" monomer it has C,H,O,N in it. It's structur looks like a branched chain.
Fatty acid It is the lipid(fat) monomer it has C,H,O in it. It's structure looks like a chain.
Nucleotide It is the "Nucleic acid" monomer it has C,H,O,N,P in it. It's structure looks like a double helix.
