what are the parts of a leaf? cuticle, upper and lower epidermis;palisade and spongy mesophyll layers;stomata and guard cells; veins
how are leaves adapted to the efficient photosynthesis? broad so large surface area;thin so short distance for gases to travel;contain chlorophyll to absorb light;have a network of veins for support and transport;stomata for gas exchange.
what does a pyramid of number what does it show you? the numbers of organisms at each stage of a food chain
what does a pyramid of biomass show? the mass of living material at each stage of a food web or chain
Explain how some energy is transferred to less useful forms at each stage (trophic level) in the food chain heat from respiration;egestion.
what is the air space in a leaf? the air space is between the mesophyll cells and it allows gases to diffuse easily and for it to reach all cells
what happens with the carbon dioxide and the oxygen in a leaf? the carbon dioxide enters and the oxgyen exits through the leafs stomata, they move by diffusion.
what are the palisade cells do in a plant? they contain a large number of chloroplast as it can absorb alot of the light energy
the purpose of the xylem ? is that it carries water and minerals from the roots to the leavesand they are also dead.
the purpose of phloem ? is that it carries dissolved food and suce as sugars form the leaves to other cells in the plants.
