Porcelain teeth are more resistant to stain and wear.
Acrylic teeth are artificial teeth that can stain
Denture teeth are made up of acrylic or porcelain
Partial denture is a prosthesis that replaces some of the teeth and is supported by the remaining teeth.
The advantage of an over denture is that it provides stability. Oral hygiene is of more concern with an over denture.
Information found in Chapter. 30,31 & 32 Complete denture is used to replace all of the teeth in a single arch
Partial dentures are repaired and adjusted easily
At oral surgery appointments the posterior teeth are removed and the bone contoured.
Acrylic dentures should not be cleaned in HOT water.
Use a soft denture brush to clean the denture. A hard brush will abrade the acrylic.
Base is the structure located on a complete denture that may have a metal mesh embedded into it.
Metal framework provides the body of the removable partial denture
Material that reflects light is considered opaque. Womens teeth tend to be more rounded and translucent
Electrosurgery is used for contouring soft tissue
