Excel Lesson 1 vocab

Name Box Indicates the current cell you are in and allows you to name the cell or a range
Quick Access Toolbar A toolbar that provides easy access to most common tools
Ribbon A bar containing all of the tabs you use in Excel
Row The horizontal line of cells indicated by a number
Screentips Small onscreen boxes that display descriptive text when you rest the pointer on a command or control
Workbook A spreadsheet file
Worksheet A sheet in the workbook
Column A vertical row of cells indicated by letters
Cell Each box in the grid
Command group A group of actions in each tab
Command tab A tab containing all of the actions
Help system A tab that provides help
Keytip An access key(s) used as a shortcut
Backstage view The screen you see when making a new spreadsheet or when you click file
Active cell The cell you have currently selected

Voices
