What is an ecological community? All the organisms living in a habitat and interacting with each other.
Ecological processes include... Predation, Competition, disturbance, herbivory, decomposition.
The structure of a community can be described by... Species richness, relative abundance, species composition.
What is the species composition of a community? What species are present in a community.
What is species richness? A count of the number of species present.
What is a flaw with using species richness as a measure of quality Species rarity or relative abundance is not taken into account.
Species richness tends to decrease with increasing... Altitude.
Species richness tends to increase with decreasing Latitude.
What is the term for the size of individual populations in a community? Abundance.
What is the term given to the size of a community within a defined system? Scale.
Where an organism lives is its... Habitat.
How an organism lives is its... Niche.
