TermDefinition
BIOSPHERE SUM of all LIVING matter on Earth.
ENVIRONMENT All of the living & nonliving factors in an area.
ABIOTIC FACTORS Factors that are neither living nor produced by living things.
BIOTIC FACTORS Factors that are LIVING or produced by living things.
ECOSYSTEM SYSTEM comprising of ALL the biotic & abiotic FACTORS in an area & all the interactions among them.
HABITAT PLACE where an organism naturally LIVE and GROWS.
NICHE FUNCTION or POSITION of an organism or a population within an ecological community.
SPECIES GROUP of ORGANISMS with similar characteristics that are able to INTERBREED or exchange genetic material.
POPULATION Group of interacting individuals of the SAME SPECIES located in the SAME AREA.
COMMUNITY All of the populations of DIFFERENT SPECIES in a particular area.
BIOME Group of ECOSYSTEMS that share similar climates and typical organisms.
