How does myasthenia gravis affect muscles? ACh receptors are blocked, making the muscle response decreased.
What parts of the body are initially affected my myasthenia gravis? Face and neck
What happens to the muscles if you have muscular dystrophy? They slowly degenerate.
What causes the muscular degeneration seen in muscular dystrophy? A lack of the protein dystrophnin (this protein provides reinforcement for the muscle structures)
What part of the body is affected by Fibromyalgia? The connective tissues that bind muscles.
What is the hallmark symptom of fibromyalgia? Tenderness & pain on contact
What is the generally successful treatment for fibromyalgia? Exercise
