Animal Adaptations

TermDefinition
Camouflage Escaping predators by blending in with the environment.
Mimicry When an animal looks or acts like another animal to escape predators
Behavioral Adaptation Animals change their behavior in order to survive
Physical Adaptation Animals change the way they look in order to survive
Hibernation A deep sleep where body activities slow down due to seasonal changes
Migration A long journey from one place to another
Instinct A natural behavior that an animal is born knowing how to do
Learned Behavior A behavior that must be taught to an animal to help it survive
