Elements A substance that cannot be decomposed into simpler substances by chemical means, and is made up of atoms all with identical number of protons
Isotopes atom of an element that has a # of neutrons different from that of other atoms of the same element
Ions atom that has a positive or negative charge
Solution mixture of 2+ substances in which the molecules of the substance are evenly distributed
Suspension a mixture with noticeable different particles, but they are small enough to appear evenly distributed. If left standing, the particles will separate.

Hydrogen bond the attractive force between the hydrogen attached to an electronegative atom of one molecule and an electronegative atom of a different molecule
Buffers a weak acid or base that helps prevent dramatic changes in pH levels
Saturated fats fatty acids that contain the maximum possible amount of hydrogen's
Unsaturated fats a fat that contains a carbon-carbon double bond
