Cellular Organization

| cell | smallest unit of a living thing that can perform the functions of life. |
| tissue | group of similar cells that works together to do one job. |
| organ | structure, such as the heart, made up of different types of tissues that work together |
| organ system | a group of organs that work together to perform a major function |
| organism | any living thing uses energy is made up of cells,reproduces,responds,grows,and develop |
| homeostasis | regulation of an organism's internal, life main-taining conditions despite changes in it's emvironment |
| unicellular | made up of a single cell |
| multicellular | consisting of many cells |
| sexual reproduction | a type of reproduction in 2 cells, usually an egg and a sperm, join a form a zygote, which will develop into a new organism with a unique identity |
| asexual reproduction | a type of reproduction fission, budding, and regeneration |
| metabolism | the total of all chemical reactions in an organism |
| fermentation | process by which oxygen lacking cells and same one celled organism release small amounts of energy from glucose |
| respiration | series of chemical reactions used o release energy stored in food molecules |
| photosynthesis | food making process by which plants any many other producers use light energy to produce glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water |
