Biology Quiz 1

Biology The study of life and living things.
Cells The basic building blocks from which all things are made.
Taxonomy The branch of biology concerned with naming and classifying the many different types of living things.
The three domains are Eukarya, Bacteria, and Archaea
Animalia The name of the animal kingdom which contains ALL of the animals including dogs, cats, frogs, sea urchins, bees, birds, snakes, jellyfish, bunnies, and even us!
Plantae The plant kingdom which includes ALL plants: trees, grass, flowers, ferns, dandelions, seaweed, and even asparagus!
Fungi The fungus kingdom which includes mushrooms, toadstools, truffles, and even athlete's foot!
Be able to organize the classifications of life from the largest group to the most specific. Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species
Memory cards May show up on any quiz or test... even the memory cards from the other scientific disciplines that we have covered (chemistry and/or astronomy)!
