What is the function of the cell membrane? It forms a boundary between a cell and outside environment.
Describe the structure of the Fluid Mosaic Model (phospholipid bilayer). It's the arrangement of the molecules to make up a cell membrane.
Why do phospholipds form a double layer? Phospholipids form a double layer because of their structure. The heads form the outer layers and the tails form the inner layer.
What does selectively permeable mean? It allows some, but not all materials to cross.
What is a membrane receptor? It's a molecule that other molecules attach to, causing changes in the cell.
How does a membrane receptor transmit messages across membranes? The receptor opens up and allows certain ions in through it's receptor channel into the cell.
