incomplete metamorphosis a series of changes in an insect from nymph to adult
labor contractions of the uterus
larva a young animal that looks completely different from the adult
metamorphosis the changes in appearance and lifestyle that occur between the young and the adult stages
navel where the umbilical cord was attached to the body
nymph a young insect that looks similar to the adult
placenta an organ that connects the embryo to the mother’s uterus
pupa a quiet, non-feeding stage that occurs between larva and adult
umbilical cord made of blood vessels that connect the embryo to the placenta
