Civics Unit 3 Test

Responsible Government Representatives are elected through a democracy, and make decisions on behalf of the citizens. Elected people are responsible for their action to the people who elected them.
Representation by Population More people in a province or territory, the more MP’s that province has in the federal election.
Ridings For federal and provincial representation and voting, each province is divided into ridings, or constituencies. Ontario for example is divided into 121 ridings. Varies depending on the location.
How many ridings does Ontario have? 121
What is the first requirement for O.P.S? Party must officially nominate candidates in 50 ridings, and must have 12 elected MP’s.
