| nucleus | is the control center of the cell. It contains DNA. |
| vacuole | acts like a stomach storing and breaking down materials. |
| mitochondria | produces energy for the cell |
| cellular respiration | the process by which cells get their energy. |
| How does cell respiration work | cells take in oxygen and food (like sugar) and release carbon dioxide and water. |
| Why are cell different shapes and sizes? | because they have different jobs to do. |

| Organism | Organ systems form these. |
| Do Plants have tissues and organs too? | Yes |
| A leaf | an example of a plant organ. |
| How do cells work together to form an organism? | Cell->tissue->organ->organ system->organism |
| organ system | a group of organs working together to carry out life processes. |
| muscle system | works with the skeletal system to move your body. The muscular system also works with your digestive system to help move food through the stomach and intestines. |
