Cell Organell Functions

OrganellFunction
Nucleus holds DNA & controls activities of the cells
Cell Membrane seperates cell from surroundings; regulates what leaves and enters
Nuclear Membrane protects the nucleus
Nucleolus makes ribosomes
Cytoplasm contains important organells
Mitochondria change the chemical energy stored in food, into compounds that are more convenient for the cell to use
Chloroplast traps energy from the sunlight & converts it into energy
Ribosome make proteins
Lysosome are necessary to have to digest certain materials in the cell
Rough Endolasmic Reticulum transports materials through the inside of the cell; proteins synthesized
Smooth Endolasmic Reticulum transports materials through the inside of the cell
Golgi Body/ Apparatus modifies, collects, packages,& distributes molecules
Vacule stores materials like water, salt, proteins,& carbs
Cell Theory 1.all living things are composed of cells
